This story is a mixture of wild-assed fiction and actual events. Most of the things set at a music and dance camp happened to me, friends or family. Contradancing is real. Dusty Strings and Whirlyball are also real. Much of the rest is stuff I made up.

My favorite type of story. A long form tale with real people with real problems and solving them together. The kids made it very special. In a story like this sex takes place in natural places in the relationships and is not the reason for the story. I loved the fact that you didn't end the story with the wedding. You continued it with Sarah and John to pull it all together. This is my third story by you and I have noticed that each of them flow like an audio book in my mind. You have a talent for making your characters humans with foibles and strengths. Thank you for taking the time to assemble these families in such a happy way. I used half a box of Kleenex.
Hmmm…two very good authors as friends? Nice! Jalibar may be a bit more edgy, but both authors are consistently good. I picture UNL with a smile on his face, which infuses his stories. Looking forward to future contributions.
Loved this one, too. Though, it will be rough on cheek muscles anytime facial comments are made!
As a Seattlite who has played Whirlyball and bought an ukulele (gift) at Dusty Strings, lived in Oly during college ages ago, and also got divorced here 35 years ago (but amicably, if painfully), I really enjoyed the very true-ringing local/PNW references. Also really enjoyed the characters and their journeys. Length for me was good; a story without some depth, discovery, conflict and resolution is a "why bother" read, to me, sex or no sex. I liked being able to set it down (for dinner) and wanting to get back to it to see how it tied up. Nice resolution with Sarah.
Please keep writing, as long as the stories keep wanting to flow.
