I also liked your choice to depict lovers who enjoy some harsh play (without risking serious injury) but use that as only a part of a complete sexual experience...an experience that also includes great pleasure, gentleness and unity. It is indeed possible to enjoy a hard spanking but not want to get beat to a pulp and rented out to strangers or to submit your entire life and soul to another, more dominant person.
