She looked over at my wife as she stepped into the elevator behind me and I felt a pair of hands slide around my waist and push my boxers down, the satin material sliding down my legs around my ankles, leaving my dick hanging out. "You know I can't walk out like this."

"I know. But I figured Donna deserved one last look," my wife whispered behind me.

I waited until the car slowed and leaned down and pulled up my boxers before the doors could open. The three of walked through the lobby, the eyes of the young guy behind the counter as big as saucers as Donna let her coat flop apart for a few moments. "That was fun," she giggled as we walked out the door into the chilly February morning. "See you later!" she called as she practically scampered, well as best as you can in high heels, towards the parking lot. I stepped next to my wife and wrapped an arm around her, helping steady her on her high heels.

"So. I hope you enjoyed all your Valentine's presents," she said as we walked to the car.

"More than I can ever express."

"Good. Because we have an appointment tomorrow with Tara. She's very interested in meeting you," she said as I opened the car door to let her slide into the cold leather seat.

I climbed into the driver seat and looked over at her after starting the car. "I just want you to know. I love you," I said quietly.

"I hope so. I'd hate to think I was doing all this and you didn't really love me any more after all these years."

"Trust me I do!"

"Good. Now get some heat in here if you want me to open this coat!" she said with a grin.

I backed out of the parking space and drove away, hoping the engine would heat quickly!

This is not an easy or simple story about which to form a cogent opinion. At one level there is some action, but it's not at all clear to what aim or purpose the action(s) are directed. The title even seems at least unresolved or maybe just open-ended? The major underlying theme seems to be a husband of long standing and who truly loves his wife is struggling with a long (or is it very long?) period of . . . . what? Neglect? Indifference? Quiet anger? Some undelivered but very important communication? on the part of the wife he loves. What was even more frustrating is that her characteristic behavior toward her husband is at least indifferent or at worst long-standing tolerant anger. Very late in the story we learn that the wife and her friend Donna (what was her contribution and role in atheplot line?) had been to some sort of counseling activity, but it was only marginally defined.

My last comment is that the plot setup seemed to have the wife confess to being less than loving/appreciative/self-aware of her less-than-loving, intimate connection to her husband ---- and for a lengthy time, many Valentine's Days past. But the wife never did "confess" of acknowledge or show self-awareness. In short, the first part of the story established the background conditions of their relationship. The last part should have affected some kind of resolution to their relationship "issues." But it didn't. Nor did we ever understand what in hell Donna's role in all this was.

You Teed-up the initial conditions nicely. But didn't resolve anything with any satisfaction.

Many questions left unanswered... 2nd wife? What does her family think? One combined household? Can they make a relationship without Jealousy and hierarchy?... 2nd chapter? Thank you.

I think it was a poor assumption that he would want another woman involved. He clearly only wanted her. Love forgives… it doesn’t bring another woman into the bedroom to say sorry.

Great Valentine Day story. But I question if it would be a 1 off, or if was going to be an ongoing thing. Well done, I can see where this could have more chapters,
