He couldn't say it, for he knew he was treading dangerous waters. But there was as much pain in her eyes as anger, and strangely, David hoped to see more of her fury.
At least it would mean she was feeling stronger. Strong enough to defend herself.
"And...I'm not allowed to change my mind? Or are you content to keep your sad, pitiful wife locked away, day after day, andalone?" Ellie demanded.
This didn't make any sense. Ellie had pushedhim away. Dr. Cole had told him he was hurting her, and needed to give her space.
"Well what do you expect me to do, Ellie? I'm not a mind reader. You don't tell me what you want, you never have," David argued.
"Well I'm telling you now! Why won't you listen?" Ellie cried.
David sighed. This was going nowhere.
"Ellie...you're telling me youthink you want sex, when just a few hours ago—"
"I think I know a lot better what I want than you do. And...I don't want sex. David...I need it," Ellie said softly.
David watched as her shoulders continued to shrink, and she began fidgeting in front of him. She actually looked embarrassed, like a timid virgin.
He felt deviant for how much the sight of her excited him.
"What do you want, Ellie?" he asked softly. Ellie nervously chewed her lip, before finally looking back at him.
"I think about her. All the time. Every minute of every day. I can't stand it anymore. I need you to make me...not think about her," Ellie whispered.
David stood and walked towards her, pulling her shawl off of her shoulders. The moonlight made her eyes look truly violet, and he knew he was lost.
He couldn't refuse her anything.
"What do you want me to do, Ellie?" David asked. Her shoulders trembled, drawing attention to the way her breasts pressed against the thin material of her gown. David licked his lips, hungry to taste her.
"I need my husband to make love to me."
Sure, the author doesn't get money for the story here, but damn, it has been 5 years and there is NO conclusion to the story the reader has invested their time and emotion in reading.
This was a great start, but now, have to say I'm just frustrated and pissed off at the author. It's an insult to leave the reader hanging.
Too bad, this was a great story with emotion and excellent character development.
Sad.
Another unreal story that should be in the fantasy category. Most of these writers can't write a good story without falling back on a character who has all the money in the world or a huge position or a connection with security people or the military or some other way to solve the problem that most of us can't even imagine. So you create a fake solution and want your readers to believe in it.
Kind of takes a twisted mind to want to deceive and distort people like that, eh?
The problem is listening to psychologists who are social studies people, not scientists, even though they pretend to be scientists and doctors. They can't fix problems in the heart or in the mind. They just create a process to keep you coming back and back and back to their office. Counseling isn't the answer. Getting wise counsel and acting on wise counsel is the only thing that will really work. And a wise counselor has to be rooted in something much more real than a college education and a silly social science like psychology...
A miscarriage is worse than terrible for a woman. My mother had 5 before I was born and I was a preemie, and my wife had 1 after our son, also a preemie, was born. Please, someone give this story an ending, I wish I could...
Far too many unanswered questions here. It’s like pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. Part 1 was excellent, part 2 was very good, part 3 ... just empty and unfinished, tainting what started as an outstanding romance.
