Dave stood holding Candy by his side. ‘Becky, I’m going to pass my pick to my good friend, Mark.’ Dave said with a smile seeing Mark’s face light up with joy. ‘I got the only girl I need right here!’ He added leaning to kiss Candy.

After the game, Miller made his way into the locker room. ‘Hey kid. We need to talk.’ Miller said to Dave pulling him into an empty office. ‘Listen, I just lost my fucking job standing up for you, so I feel you need to hear me out on this one,’ he smiled to Dave. ‘I don’t know what your fucking problem is, but you need to fix it and fix it fucking fast.’ Miller smiled again. ‘I’m busting my fucking balls telling everyone that you’ll get your head out of your ass. All I want to know is, how fucking soon are you going to do it? Soon I fucking hope.’ Miller glared at Dave. ‘Go fix whatever is fucking up your game! You’re the best I’ve ever seen! Don’t fuck it up!’ He yelled before turning to leave.

Dave went back to his locker and thought about what Miller said and he was right. ‘First I’ll go find Mandy and Ken. I’m sure they’ll know where Leona is,’ he smiled thinking of how good it always made him feel holding her in his arms. Tears ran down Leona’s pretty face as she seeing her one true love. Her hand reached to caress his hair from his face. ‘Anyplace with you would be just fine!’ She said as the room filled with the nurses and staff. Everyone loved Leona, they had heard stories about her dating a big football star, and here he was.

‘Well, in that case,’ he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. Gently placing it in her tiny hand he asked, ‘Will you marry me?’

Everyone in the room froze. You could hear a pin drop as everyone waited for her reply. A smile filled her beautiful face and tears of happiness ran from her eyes. She carefully opened the box and saw the biggest ring she had ever seen in her life. ‘YES!’ Leona yelled out hugging Dave around his neck.

Everyone cheered out for Leona. She had been so lonely the last year without Dave and now at last he came to claim the pretty woman.
