She had a chance here.
For once in her life, she knew it when it was happening. This time, not all of the options before her were shitty ones where she had to choose the lesser of several evils.
For once, she could choose the very best one for herself.
She was just easing herself down to get some sleep herself when Su-jin began to speak in the softest whisper. Max wondered if she was dreaming and didn't expect to hear anything which made sense, so she wasn't thinking to really listen.
But as she moved very slowly to lie down, she saw that Su-jin's eye were open just a bit and she had a small and very sweet smile on her face.
"I am your Su-jin already because I want it so. You are my Max. I see that you want it too. We both know what can come.
I love very deeply when I love. It is my way. Jodi does not know anything about love.
But you do. I see this.
We were making love with our pants down and we should hurry, but no – we stopped and looked and felt from it. That is deeper than many people get.
We are poor. We can be poor together and we can smile. I saw this tonight. Simple things we can laugh about are always good. We might not have much now, but I know we can be happy. I learned this from you tonight too. We don't need anything but hearts and smiles. That is always enough for poor girls. It can also be love."
She shifted a little and sighed pleasantly, "Thank you for what you did.
I want to know if you want to live with girl and maybe a little boy who doesn't look anything like the one that he calls his mother in her language."
She raised her arm slowly to make room for Max beside her, "I hope that I can just be your regular girl now."
Max didn't mean to, but she let out a tiny gasp. She moved to settle in beside Su-jin, who waited as Max got against her and put her leg over Su-jin before she pulled the covers over them both.
"You already are," Max whispered.
Su-jin's eyes were closed but her smile was still there. She reached across Max to pull her a little tighter in and then she sighed.
"Then we begin now."

sailandoarabout 8 years ago. . . have been a HUGE fan of your writing/style/human_insight/and_more for years (time does fly, it seems) and this story yet again goodly amazes. You do your many character/points_view/times/places/and_more thing in ways that I don't know I have ever experienced before and because you do it so seamlessly and effortlessly, I expect at any minute to find your work mainstream and global. Thanks for what you do and 'good luck to all of us' . . . . .

Don't kick yourself over it too much, if anything it's a compliment that your story telling is good enough for details like that to be so easily remembered.
I've been giving some thought to your question, I think some straight sex involving the main girls shouldn't get too much complaint... The general rule does seem to be that so long as the bulk of the story fits the section it is fine and most people are happy.
You know, this does explain the weird urge I had, part way through this one, to try and put the various scenes from all the chapters in to chronological order.

I've had to make edits and rewrite bits because of Suzi and a few other things, I always had it in my head to check that very thing. And guess what?
Yeah, once again, I've proven that there is no minimum IQ to write and post here. Crap.
If I could trouble you for an opinion, this whole thing was written a few years ago. Started out as something without a specific category in my head and I thought I'd just make it a novella. I don't know what to do with a lot of it now. I was thinking that it might fly if I included vignettes of the other stuff as the central story moves ahead.
As an example, Max is Bi - but not in the regular sense. She's now learning that she CAN have a sex life where there is no coersion or threat of harm, and Su-jin allows her this for her own reasons. Do you think it would fly to include some of that?
'Cause I really don't know and with so much here in this category, I'd now rather not split it up - and I freaking promise not to ever do anything other than the ch01, ch02, etc. thing from now on. 0_o
Heisenhugover 8 years agoI'm part way through now but I'm leaving this comment so I remember later. The chronology for Suzi and Malikah confuses me... Between page 5's chat with Bobbi, and the bit with Suzi in the last chapter posted, seems like events don't quite work in order :/ I need to go back to that "1 month later" bit to see if I am misremembering some detail.
