Ann asked her, "Who are they from?"

She handed Ann a little white envelope, and left the room, closing the door behind her.

She opened the note and read it. "Please forgive me. I could not see my life without you." Charlie

Ann screamed, "If you are in New York, how am I supposed to find you?"

A voice behind her said, "I am not in New York; I could not leave you."

Ann looked around, and saw Charlie standing with flowers in his hands. She ran over the flowers that were strewn all over the floor to get to him. "Charlie, if I ever act so stupid again, put me in time out, until I come to my senses. I was so wrong, can you ever forgive me."

Charlie laughed. "I think every florist, in this city, thinks you are the most wonderful person, in this whole world. There is not a flower to be had anywhere."

"A dozen roses would have done fine, Charlie."

"If you look around, Ann, there is not one rose in the entire bunch. Apparently, they do not have roses in Ecuador."

"Would you like to go out fishing again tomorrow, Charlie?"

"No, tomorrow starts our trip to the Galapagos Islands. Maybe when we come back, I will try to catch the whale that ate half of my tuna."

"In that case, Charlie, we will need a bigger boat."

The trip from the Simon Bolivar airport, to the Galapagos Islands takes a little more than one hour; however, it is a trip from the 21st century, back to the days of the 16th century, when they were discovered by the Spanish. The islands had no potable water, and considered uninhabitable. They made little note of the rare species they encountered, and only used them for food.

It was not until Charles Darwin arrived, and catalogued these rare species, in the 1830's, and published the second most controversial book ever written.

"On The Origins of the Species: By the Means of Natural Selection," in November 1859, that these islands became so famous; it almost led to their destruction. (Just in case you are wondering, the most controversial book ever written is, "The Bible.")

When Ann and Charlie boarded the Tame Airlines aircraft, they waited for the other passengers to get on. 10 minutes later, the flight attendant closed the door, and welcomed them aboard. She started reading the emergency instructions, as the pilots started the Boeing 737's engines.

Ann asked the young woman, "Is this the slow season? Why are we the only people going to the islands?"

The flight attendant replied, "No madam, this aircraft is full."

Ann smiled at Charlie, and asked, "What did you do?"

"I did not do a thing. I believe a pregnant woman, with a blonde head of hair, had something to do with this."

"I wonder if that friend of mine bought out the entire hotel."

The flight attendant said, "There is no hotel on the island."

"Where does everyone stay?"

"They stay at the campground on the big island."

"After her pilots pulled me out of the airport, at gunpoint, so she could speak with me, I would not put anything past her."

"So she got to you too, Charlie? How big a guilt trip did she put on you?"

"I do not believe I have heard a woman use so many four letter words, in succession, in my entire life. She loves you, like she loved her mother. If I had left you, I think she would have had my balls for breakfast."

"She is very good at that, isn't she Charlie?"

When they deplaned, and went to pay their fees, the attendant explained they were already paid. He said, "All your fees are paid, for as long as you wish to stay with us. Your yacht is here. It has been inspected, and is approved for all landing sites, on these islands. Your luggage has been inspected, and is on the way there now. Enjoy your stay, please. The Government of Ecuador has instructed us to afford you every courtesy. If there is anything we can do for you, do not hesitate to ask any of your guides for it."

Ann and Charlie looked at one another and simultaneously said, "Celeste!"

Ann laughed, "I did not know Ecuador had a national debt."

Charlie replied, "They probably do not have one anymore. That woman has to be put in a 'rubber room', for her own safety."

As they got closer to the docks, Ann asked Charlie, "How did that get here so fast; and how did she know we would be together?"

Charlie looked at the huge yacht he had fished from two days ago, and wondered the same thing. It was more than 600 miles by air. He said to Ann, "When we get on board, I have to see what that boat has under the hood."

Ann laughed. "What are you going to do Charlie, steal the hubcaps?"

"No, I stopped doing that when I was 15. That is when I learned how to hotwire cars. It was easier to drive the whole thing away."

"No wonder you joined the FBI. You already knew all about thieves."

"It takes one, to catch one."

As they boarded the boat, Celeste's pilots greeted them warmly. Charlie looked at them and asked, "How did you guys get here?"

The copilot replied, "You mean you did not see the helipad on top of this boat? Miss Mesner would not own a boat she could not land on."

Ann gasped, "She owns this boat?"

"Of course, she hates to rent things, she could buy."

Charlie asked if he could see the engines, because he wanted to know how the boat got to the islands so fast.

The pilot answered, "You can see anything you want on this boat. However, the same thing that powers our aircraft, powers this boat. It has two very large gas turbine engines. Miss Mesner does not like anything that pollutes the air, such as a diesel engine. We can reach 41 knots and calm seas. Anything else is at the captain's discretion. It has stabilizers and thrusters on both sides, so the boat can do a 180° turn, without moving 1 inch forward or back."

"I wondered why it was so quiet when we went out the first time. Turbine engines never entered my mind."

The crew let go the lines fore and aft, and the boat smoothly left the dock, and moved smoothly out to sea.

The copilot said, "Both of you has a briefing in the master bedroom, so I will not keep you. Lunch will be served at 1 o'clock. There will be no diving today, just two glorious nature walks."

"Briefing, I guess I do not have to ask from who, do I," said Ann?

"No. The crew will be forward, so they will not hear the yelling and the screaming. Miss Mesner does not like to scare the people that work for her, when it is not necessary."

"Charlie, you go, I will wait here, and you can tell me what she said."

"I am sorry Mrs. Gomes; Miss Mesner has purchased satellite time, and she will be talking to you directly."

"Charlie, protect me, I am in a world of trouble."

"How could you possibly think that, Ann? She purchased all the seats on a Boeing 737. She bribed the Ecuadorian government to let us use all of the Galapagos Islands as our own. And, she brought this yacht here to keep us captive. I have the feeling we are going to be buried here, or used as shark bait."

"She would never have us buried here, Charlie. It would upset the natural order of things. We are going to be used as shark bait."

They sat down in the master bedroom, turned on the large screen TV, and waited.

The communications officer informed them that the message would be coming through in 30 seconds, and he was leaving to join the rest of the crew forward.

The Captain would remain at the helm.

Celeste's face gleamed on the screen in front of them, until she knew they were broadcasting her picture live to Charlie and Ann. Then, it turned into a death mask.

Charlie, in his best FBI trained voice tried to stop Celeste, before she got started, but it did not work.

"Shut up, Charlie. I will get to you next. Ann, you are my best friend, and the smartest person I ever knew, when did you become a fucking idiot."

For the next three minutes, Celeste tore into Ann, like a road grader tares into the earth. She reminded her of every time she had a boyfriend in her life, every time the relationship failed, and every time she had to put herself back together. How many more times did she want to go through this? Could you go through this, with a child to nurture? She had a lot of money; however, what would she do with the rest of her life? Your husband kept a secret from you, and wanted to surprise you with it; you go off the fucking deep end and yell 'Divorce.' If I were Charlie, I would still be running. You can blame it on the hormones, which are racing through your body, but it would be a lie, and you know it. You told me that you were angry. You had no right to be angry. You should have been so happy that you were going to a place you tried to go to on your own for years. You should have raped him, not ripped him apart. I was so angry with you Philip could not calm me down. He had to remind me how long we have been friends, and I could not discard you, because of this one incident. You had better learn from this incident Ann, because Charlie was right to leave you. First, he gave up everything to be with you. Then, you ripped his heart out. He leaves, and tells you to keep everything. He kept nothing for himself. You said it the day you met him, "He is a keeper." The first thing you do when you get angry is tell someone like him to take a hike. If it were me, Ann, I would be approaching the North Pole, and not looking back. You do not deserve him Ann, not the way you have treated him. You threatened never to let him see his child. What type of a person does that to a father? Who have you turned into in such a short time? What has happened to the person I loved?'

Charlie had enough. Ann was sobbing on his shoulder, and could not take another word from her friend. "Enough Celeste, she has had enough. You have had your pound of flesh, now leave my wife alone."

"That is all I want, Charlie. It is all I wanted for both of you. I cannot dream of you two being apart. You are so perfect for one another; it was like a dream come true. When Ann told me what happened, I thought to myself; if they cannot make it together, how am I going to make it with Philip? It scared me so badly, I almost canceled my wedding. You may never realize in how high esteem I hold you two. I love you Charlie, for loving my Ann the way you do. Please, never let her go."

Charlie laughed, "I thought I was next on your hit list, Celeste?"

"I just gave you my best shot, Charlie. If it does not work, I do not know what I will do."

"Did you have to bribe the entire Ecuadorian Government so we could see the islands by ourselves?"

"I did nothing of the sort, Charlie. A while back, I had a relationship, with the vice president of the country. Of course, he was married at the time, so I asked him for a favor."

Ann sniffled and laughed, "Celeste, you are so bad."

"Hey, I was not the one who was married; why am I the bad one?"

Charlie rebuked his wife and said, "She does have a point dear."

"She was probably at one of their nude beaches, when he walked by and saw her."

"It was my private nude beach, I will have you know. He had no right being there."

"You poor little thing, and he forced himself on you?"

"No, we had lobster, cracked crab, oysters, and champagne first. Then he forced himself on me; for two months."

"Charlie, did you notice she said that with a straight face. No other woman on earth could have pulled that off."

"She is magnificent, isn't she Ann.

"I have four minutes of satellite time remaining. Is there anything else I have to berate you two over; or are you two straightened out, now?"

"I am not letting her go anywhere from now on Celeste. I am going to buy her a submission collar. Every time she gets out of line, I will attach a leash to it, and remind her, who the boss is, in our family."

Ann said, "You have no chance, Charlie."

Charlie grabbed Ann and laid her over his lap. He asked her if she wished to reconsider her last statement.

Ann said, "Charlie, we agreed on a time out."

Charlie looked up at the screen and asked Celeste if she knew what a 'Time Out' was?

Celeste smiled and said, "I have never heard of that term."

Ann yelled, "You lying bitch, I will get you for this."

"Hurry up Charlie I am running out of time."

Charlie raised his right hand, and brought it down, swiftly, on Ann's ass.

Ann screamed, and Celeste yelled, "One!"

Charlie hit her, again. Celeste yelled, "Two!"

The screen went black, but Charlie continued hitting Ann, again, and again, and again.

Ann said, "You brute, you had no right to hit me."

"I did not have enough time to explain to Celeste what a 'Time Out' was. I had to revert to a spanking, and show her I mean business."

"She knows what a 'Time Out' is. I taught education classes, and that was part of the curriculum. She was in those classes."

"Did she answer those questions correctly?"

"How am I supposed to remember that far back?"

"You cannot say she knows what a 'Time Out' is, unless you can answer that question."

"I hate you guys from the FBI. You all should be shot when you leave the Bureau."

"Where would you be without me now, Ann?"

"I would be single, teaching, living in a beach house belonging to my friend, unhappy, unmarried, and not pregnant."

"Which way would you prefer to be living, Ann?

"Married to you Charlie, I will always want to be married; to you. However, we are only having one child. I will not waiver on that one point."

"Ann, my uncle and aunt had 15 children, and they are all spaced about 10 to 12 months apart. After one birth, the doctor asked my uncle a question. "Sir, how long after your wife gives birth do you wait before you have sexual intercourse?"

My uncle replied, "That all depends, doctor; is she in a ward, or in a private room."

Ann screamed, "Charlie that was disgusting."

"How can something that is true; be disgusting?"

"Your aunt and uncle have 15 children?

"One day, when we go to New York, I will take you to their home and I will introduce you to them. I am going to have to send them a baby gift soon, anyhow; they are about to have number 16."

"Charlie, get over my knees, now, because I know you are lying to me."

"Are you willing to offer that one part of your body that I have not used, as an offering to assuage your guilt."

"What did I say that was wrong, Charlie?"

"You have accused me of lying, and I am not. To cleanse yourself of this miscarriage of justice, I demand a piece of your ass, after the birth of our son."

"You are lying, Charlie. No woman, in this day and age, has 16 children, willingly."

"You forget; my darling wife, that there are still some devout Roman Catholic families, that do not use birth control. Some, like my aunt and uncle, are extremely fertile."

"Before you get a piece of my ass, I want to count every one of those children, and see their birth certificates. Anyone can bring 16 kids into a room, and say they belong to the same family. I want to be positive of it, before I am ripped open by your cock."

"Isn't life wonderful Ann. First you tell me there is no way I am going to stick my cock up your ass. Now you tell me, after you count 16 children, I have free access to that, wonderful, little portal."

"I never said you could have free access to my ass, Charlie."

"Once you get your virginity popped, you can never get it back. It is fair game from that moment on, Ann."

"Fuck you Charlie!"

"No, I am going to fuck you, Ann; right after I tell the crew it is all clear to go back to their stations. Get naked, wife, I will be back in one moment."

For the next 10 days, the newlyweds' island hopped around the Galapagos. They fucked among the fur seals, marveled at the red and blue-footed booby's, and saw the only warm water colony of penguins in the world.

Snorkeling was otherworldly, also. Nowhere else could you find marine iguanas'? Thousands of different varieties of fish located nowhere else on this planet thrived around these volcanic islands. If Ann had her way, she would live here forever, and die happy for the experience.

By the end of the ninth day, Charlie could qualify as a tour guide. He heard and memorized every word that their guides told them, about each island and its flora and fauna. He was ready to go home, and be among people, again.

After tipping everyone, who had been so nice to them on their stay, very handsomely, Charlie and Ann boarded the yacht, and the captain set off for Guayaquil, at a leisurely 30 knots.

The explorers' bedroom was very quiet. They were snuggled up, against one another, like two peas in a pod; reliving every moment of their trip. It was something they would relive, with their children, when they were old enough to understand the marvels they were seeing.

50. Celeste takes 'Apart' (of) a New York Lawyer

Celeste and Philip walked into the law offices of James Hearst, just before

2 PM, and the entire staff was standing there, including Jim, waiting for them.

Celeste said, "What did you do, have a spy downstairs tell you that I was coming up?"

"No Celeste, I did not have one spy, I had 10. I left nothing to chance. I was not going to let you sneak up on me this time."

"Very funny, Jim, but before I go any further, I want you to meet my fiancé, Philip Castronova. Treat him nice, or I will tear you a new asshole."

"Celeste, I just gave a 20 minute lecture to everyone here, on that subject."

"I knew I hired you for some reason; now I know what it was. Let's get down to business, please."

"Celeste, this is going to take about two hours to go through. In your delicate condition, do you want to use the facilities, before we start?"

"It's very thoughtful of you Jim; I think I will."

As soon as she was out hearing range, Jim said, "Philip, come with me."

As they entered Jim's private office, he told Philip to sit down and to listen to him very carefully. "Charlie Gomes told me, point blank, to draw up an ironclad Prenuptial Agreement to protect Celeste. It is not that he does not trust you Philip, but he loves Celeste more. He said to me, in a private conversation, 'If anything would ever tear your marriage apart, and a divorce was eminent, he would hate to see something happen to you.' I believe you know what he means. I have an agreement here for you to sign. If you want to read it, you may. There will be no changes made; whether you object to it or not. The maximum you will walk away from this marriage with is $5 million. You will not get custody of any children, or any property belonging to Celeste. What you bring to this marriage, is yours. If you leave it, you leave it $5 million richer and nothing more. Sign it, or one way or the other, I will guarantee you, there will be no marriage."

Philip looked at him like he was a deranged idiot. He said, "Nothing could keep Celeste from marrying me July 1. Nothing in this world could stop us."

"Philip, I know from talking to Charlie and Ann how much you love her. I do not doubt that for one second. However, it takes two people to get married. She will not be at the church July 1, if you do not sign this piece of paper. Charlie will make sure of it. Celeste does not know about this. She would fire me if she did. I would lose nearly $100 million a year, from this one account, if I lose her. That is how much I am putting on the line, to protect her. So if you think I am kidding with you, you had better think again."

Philip hesitated and Jim saw him thinking about what to do; so he nudged him along.

"You son of a bitch, you are in this for the money. I should kill you where you stand. I would go to jail happy, knowing that I saved Celeste from a moneygrubbing bastard like you. Thank God I have this recorded for her to listen to; otherwise she would not believe me."

"I love Celeste more than my own life. She is carrying my baby and I would do anything for her; anything at all. I have my own money, I do not need hers."
