Click hereOnce I stopped crying, I leaned up and gave him a long soft kiss.
"I love you Carson."
"I love you Tina."
He gave me another peck on the cheek, and sat down on the couch.
"Girls, will you come here?"
He motioned for them to each take a seat on one of his knees. Somehow, he produced two more little black boxes, and handed one to each of the girls.
"Girls, I love you so much. Would you be willing to become my daughters."
By then, the entire family was crying while the girls opened their boxes. Inside each one held a locket with their name engraved on them. When they opened them, each side held a picture of Carson and I. They had him put them around their necks vowing to never take them off.
Who would have thought that two neighbors who couldn't stand each other would end up falling madly in love and becoming a family. Certainly not me, and definitely not the womanizer who thought that single moms didn't deserve a second look.
The End
Thank you for reading my story, I hope you enjoyed it.
As always, I would appreciate your vote and comments.
This is a 5 star story. Thanks for sharing. I am going to follow up the comment by Anonymous 9 months ago with regard to Workers' comp. Work comp is a no fault system, which any HR director would know and wouldn't have made some big deal about negligence of the employee. I am a workers comp lawyer. I have seen cases where the worker decided the best way to clear out an obstruction in a machine is to stick his hand in there to get it out, thereby losing fingers, sometimes even the whole hand. If stupidity of the worker was a defense, those would be the cases that wouldn't get paid, but it is not. Doesn't matter whose fault the accident is, the claim gets paid. And any national big chain hotel would have HR people who would know that and would also know it is very ILLEGAL to do what the HR person did in this story. Nonetheless, as I said at the beginning the romance in this story is top notch and this is a 5 star story.
Stop looking for a fly in the ointment.
It's a story and, like life, it can be illogical.
I like the story
I'm wondering what the HR manager's beef was with Tina? All in all, a great story.
